BenQ has launched two new home theater projectors in Europe: the TK705i and the TK705STi. Designed for watching movies and sports, or playing games, these 4K Ultra HD models share many similarities.
Both the BenQ TK705i and the TK705STi have an LED light source, said to generate up to 3,000 ANSI lumens brightness, with a 20,000 hour estimated lifetime. These projectors have a 16:9 native aspect ratio, throwing images up to 150 inches wide. They also offer a 600,000:1 FOFO contrast ratio and 98% coverage of the Rec. 709 color space. Where they differ is with the throw ratio, due to the lenses used. The TK705i has a 1.0-1.3:1 throw ratio with 1.3x zoom, while the TK705STi is a short throw model, suited to smaller spaces, with a 0.8:1 throw ratio, though this is fixed.
Users of either the TK705i or the TK705STi can perfect the image with various keystone correction, screen fit and auto focus tools, and there is a range of picture modes including Auto Cinema, HDR10+ and Bright. These BenQ projectors have the latest version of Google TV, based on Android 15, bringing many streaming apps and wireless screen sharing tools like AirPlay and Google Cast.
Gaming features include dedicated modes like HDR-RPG and HDR-FPS, auto low latency mode (ALLM), and an HDMI 2.1 port with 5 ms input lag at 4K@60 Hz. They also support Smart Remote via the BenQ Projector smartphone app, and are said to be the only projectors of their class to offer a 30W USB-C output. There are also two integrated 8W speakers, and the projector can sit on a table or be mounted to the ceiling, either way up.
The BenQ TK705i and TK705STi Home Entertainment projectors retail in Europe for £1,249/€1,399 and £1,399/€1,599, respectively. They are available at the brand’s online store, as well as through retailers like Amazon in countries like Germany.
Update: These BenQ projectors are now available to pre-order in the US.
