The Sharp V series XP-V731U and XP-V801U projectors have been revealed. Designed for professional use across a range of educational, corporate and leisure settings, the company markets the models as having a “cost-efficient design”. They launched alongside the brand’s four new A series projectors.
Both the Sharp XP-V731U and XP-V801U are WUXGA projectors with a native 1,920 x 1,200 px resolution. They use 3LCD technology, with support for a 4K input, native 16:10 aspect ratio and a 3,000,000:1 contrast ratio. The maximum recommended screen size is 500 inches, with the projection distance ranging from 0.7 to 50.9 m. Depending on the lens, users can make motorized or manual zoom and focus adjustments, and there are manual horizontal and vertical keystone correction tools.
Each model is equipped with a laser light source, expected to run for up to 20,000 hours without needing any maintenance. While the XP-V731U delivers up to 7,300 ISO lumens brightness, the XP-V801U is brighter with up to 8,000 ISO lumens brightness. According to Sharp, these models can run relatively quietly, generating as little as 31 to 32 dB running noise. Plus, they are compatible with Sharp’s existing mounts and lenses, and can be remotely set up and managed using the brand’s ProAssist software.
Sharp’s V Series XP-V731U and XP-V801U projectors will sell for around £3,545.99/€4,326 and £4,100.99 in Europe. They will be available through retailers like Back To the Office in the UK and Bechtle in Germany. Details of US pricing have yet to be confirmed.
