BenQ has launched the BR9708 4K Laser Simulation Projector in Europe. This new model is built for business use, designed for escape rooms, theme parks and other immersive attractions.
The BR9708 has a 4K UHD (3,840 x 2,160 px) resolution with a native 16:9 aspect ratio and a 3,000,000:1 contrast ratio. With an interchangeable lens, it can generate images up to 300 inches wide, offering a 0.15 -1.6 throw ratio. This model is equipped with a laser light source, delivering up to 2,600 ANSI lumens brightness, with an estimated lifetime of 20,000 hours with typical use. Plus, it is said to cover 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, for realistic images; it is described as offering “the color performance of high-end projectors at a fraction of the cost of competing solutions”.
The BenQ BR9708’s image can be perfected with automatic 2D keystone correction and motorized focus tools. This model does not have integrated speakers, with external devices connecting via ports like USB-A and HDMI (ARC) with 17.9 ms input lag (4K@60Hz). According to the company, the device runs relatively quietly, generating 30dB of noise, making it suitable for immersive experiences and exhibitions. It measures 525 x 146 x 392 mm (~21 x 6 x 16 inches) and can be placed on a table or ceiling mounted.
In the UK, you can purchase the model for £4,659 at retailers like Jacks Golf Sims, and it is available for €6,499 at VisuNext in various EU countries.
