The BenQ LU895UST WUXGA Short Throw Simulation Projector has been launched in Europe. This model is designed for business use in immersive entertainment venues, or educational settings.
BenQ’s LU895UST has a WUXGA resolution (1,920 × 1,200), with a laser light source. According to the company, it is the most compact ultra-short-throw projector in its class to deliver up to 5,000 ANSI lumens brightness. It has a 0.253:1 throw ratio, throwing images up to 200 inches wide. This DLP projector is also said to have a 3,000,000:1 FOFO contrast ratio, 93% coverage of the Rec.709 color gamut, and a selection of picture modes including Simulation, HDR10 and sRGB.
The LU895UST offers image-perfecting tools like 2D Keysone correction, and is marketed as “blending ready”. Ports on the device include two HDMI (2.0b/HDCP2.2), RJ45 and USB-A, and there is also a 10W integrated speaker. This is a relatively compact model, measuring 327 x328.3 x 131.6 mm (12.87 x 12.93 x 5.18 inches). In Europe, the BenQ LU895UST WUXGA Short Throw Simulation Projector will retail for €3,999. Whether or when it could be released in North America remains to be seen.
