AYN Technologies is now offering its latest gaming handheld directly through its website rather than a crowdfunding campaign. To recap, the company brought the Odin 3 to Indiegogo in early September, having released the AYN Thor less than a month earlier. Incidentally, the latter has been available to purchase from AYN Technologies' website since day one.
For context, the Odin 3 replaces the Odin 2, albeit not the smaller Odin 2 Mini or the larger Odin 2 Portal (curr. $359 on Amazon). Nonetheless, the Odin 3 will be more powerful than all Odin 2 series handhelds by adopting Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset across all SKUs. Please see our original Odin 3 launch article for a full rundown of the hardware that AYN's latest gaming handheld contains.
For brevity, we have included an image below summarising the device's key specifications. The AYN Odin 3 starts at $329 when purchased from AYN Technologies' website. A $30 uplift over the device's Indiegogo campaign launch price, this SKU includes 8 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 128 GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
Unfortunately, AYN Technologies ties UFS 4.0 flash storage to its Pro, Max and Ultra SKUs, which now cost $399, $449 and $519, respectively. Currently, AYN Technologies intends to begin shipping Odin 3 pre-orders placed on its website from the end of November, with a complimentary TPU protective case thrown in for good measure.
