Lenovo releases powerful 14-inch ThinkPad in the US with Nvidia RTX Pro graphics and up to 96GB RAM

Lenovo released the AMD-powered ThinkPad P14s Gen 7 in North America last month with Gorgon Point processors. Now, the Intel model has joined the lineup with high-end Panther Lake CPUs and Nvidia RTX Pro graphics.

The new 14.5-inch mobile workstation is available in four preconfigured SKUs in the US and Canada. Interestingly, unlike in some other markets, Lenovo is not offering the entry-level Core Ultra 5 336H. Instead, the lineup starts with the Core Ultra 7 356H at $3,669 in the US and CA$5,099 in Canada before discounts. That configuration also includes an RTX Pro 500 Blackwell laptop GPU, 32GB of LPDDR5X-7467 CAMM2 memory, and a 1920 x 1200, 60Hz display with 400 nits of peak brightness.

Stepping up to the Core Ultra 7 366H vPro brings the more powerful RTX Pro 1000 GPU, a brighter 3K (3072 x 1920) 120Hz screen with 100% DCI-P3, and 64GB of CAMM2 memory. The flagship Core Ultra 9 386H vPro configuration retains the upgraded GPU and display but increases the memory to 96GB. However, all that power does not come cheap. The fully specced-out ThinkPad P14s i Gen 7 with Core Ultra 9 model costs a steep $6,789 in the US, though all four SKUs are currently 16% off in both countries.

That said, storage starts at 1TB with a PCIe Gen 5 SSD, while the remaining three SKUs double that to 2TB. The laptop also packs a 75Wh battery, an Intel BE211 wireless card with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, a fingerprint reader, and a backlit keyboard. Connectivity includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports, two 5Gbps USB-A ports, HDMI 2.0, and a headphone jack.

We haven’t reviewed the new ThinkPad P14s i Gen 7 yet, but the previous Gen 6 model impressed us during our review. The newer Panther Lake processors should deliver a modest performance boost over the Arrow Lake options in the older model. However, the smart card reader and nano-SIM slot remain optional, so buyers may get neither depending on the configuration.
