Lenovo releases new 14-inch ThinkPad globally with 64 GB RAM and lightweight body

Lenovo is now selling the ThinkPad P14s Gen 7 in North America. Signifying a global release, the laptop landed in markets like Australia, the Eurozone and the UK almost two months ago. However, the ThinkPad P14s Gen 7 originally debuted in mid-March alongside the similar P14s i Gen 7.
Currently, Lenovo is not offering a build-your-own solution as it does in other markets. Instead, four pre-configured SKUs are available to purchase in both Canada and the US. Nonetheless, the ThinkPad P14s Gen 7 is available with the Ryzen AI 7 PRO 450 or the Ryzen AI 9 HX PRO 470 from AMD's Gorgon Point family, which sit within a body weighing in at just 1.29 kg.
While these are newer processors, they may only be slightly more powerful than Strix Point predecessors that underpin the older ThinkPad P14s Gen 6 we reviewed in 2025 (curr. $1,399 on Amazon). Additionally, the new ThinkPad P14s is available with up to 64 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM operating in dual-channel mode; the laptop supports up to 96 GB of RAM, though.
Moreover, the ThinkPad P14s Gen 7 contains an M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD slot that Lenovo pre-populates with up to a 1 TB drive. Pricing starts at $1,869 in the US and CAD 2,599 in Canada with a Ryzen AI 7 PRO 450 and 8 GB of RAM. At the time of publication, the ThinkPad P14s Gen 7 costs up to $3,469 and CAD 4,819, despite maintaining a 1200p, 500-nit and 60 Hz IPS display with 100% sRGB colour space coverage.
