Lenovo launches new 14-inch ThinkPad with AMD Gorgon Point and up to 96 GB RAM

Lenovo has updated its ThinkPad line with new P series models, including the P14s i Gen 7. For context, the company has presented the ThinkPad P1 Gen 9 and ThinkPad P16s Gen 5. At the same time, it has introduced a second smaller alternative to the P16s G5 and P1 G9 called the P14s Gen 7 AMD.
According to Lenovo, the ThinkPad P14s G7 AMD will be available with up to the Ryzen AI 9 HX Pro 470 APU and its Radeon 890M iGPU. For reference, this APU will only marginally outperform the Ryzen AI 9 HX Pro 370 inside the older ThinkPad P14s G6 (curr. $1,780 on Amazon). Also, the P14s G7 AMD misses out on a discrete GPU option like the P14s i G7.
Additionally, Lenovo will offer its new 14-inch AMD laptop with a choice between 1200p IPS and 2.8K OLED displays. Please note that only the 2.8K variant provides a 120 Hz refresh rate and 100% DCI-P3 colour space coverage. The ThinkPad P14s G7 AMD will also be sold with up to 96 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM split across dual SO-DIMM slots and 2 TB of PCIe Gen 5 storage.
Moreover, the laptop will be available with 60 Wh or 75 Wh batteries within a housing that starts at 1.29 kg and measures 313.6 x 221.7 x 15.93 mm. The P14s G7 AMD will be available from April 2026 onwards. Unfortunately, Lenovo has not confirmed pricing yet. Likewise, it has not shared full availability or configuration details either.
