Hands-on: New Amazfit update improves navigation, maps, and Helio support

Zepp Health has released software version 6.3.13.5 for the Amazfit T-Rex 3 (on Amazon), bringing bug fixes alongside notable functional upgrades. One key addition is a workout start-screen reminder to pair external accessories, such as chest-strap heart rate monitors, before beginning an activity.
Map features have also been refined. According to Zepp Health, contour lines are now clearer, and footpaths are easier to distinguish from roads. Sidewalk data for select major roads has been integrated, though it only appears at high zoom levels. Offline map downloads are now more convenient, as users can select larger geographical areas at once. Navigation usability has seen general improvements as well.
Furthermore, the update enhances integration with screenless Amazfit wearables, specifically the Helio Strap and Helio Strap Pro. Users can now configure these trackers directly from their smartwatch—enabling or disabling features like real-time heart rate broadcasting without pulling out their phone. Smartwatch alerts for low Helio Strap battery levels have also been added.
