Samsung Display showed a 16-inch 2.5K OLED laptop panel running at up to 300Hz, the first laptop OLED to hit that refresh rate.
The panel is aimed at high-end gaming laptops and moves past the 240Hz ceiling previous laptop OLED panels have held. Samsung also showed two QD-OLED monitor panels, a 31.5-inch 4K panel and a 34-inch 21:9 ultrawide panel, both running at 360Hz.

Samsung Display has unveiled a 16-inch OLED panel with a 300Hz variable refresh rate at the IMID 2026 expo, which runs through August 21 at BEXCO in Busan, South Korea. Aimed at high-end gaming laptops, this development marks an industry first, breaking the previous 240Hz ceiling for laptop OLED displays, a speed that LCD screens had previously dominated.

The new 16-inch panel features a 2.5K resolution and a standard 16:9 aspect ratio. While Samsung has not yet disclosed specific peak brightness figures, the panel is expected to offer HDR support, along with the inherent infinite contrast, perfect blacks, and pixel-level backlight control typical of OLED displays.

Samsung has not confirmed specific launch dates, as panel unveilings typically take a full product cycle to reach retail. However, the first devices using the screen are expected to sit in the flagship gaming tier and will likely be adopted by major brands such as ASUS, Lenovo, and Razer.

Samsung also showed two QD-OLED monitor panels at 360Hz: a 31.5-inch 4K panel and a 34-inch 21:9 ultrawide panel.

In addition to the laptop display, Samsung used the show to introduce two new QD-OLED panels designed for the desktop gaming monitor market. The lineup includes a 31.5-inch panel with a 4K resolution and a 360Hz refresh rate, which Samsung notes is a first for monitor panels, alongside a 34-inch ultrawide panel with a 21:9 aspect ratio that also runs at 360Hz.

The Samsung booth additionally showcased several futuristic display concepts. Among the prototypes shown on the floor were a 7.6-inch foldable OLED featuring a wide-viewing design, a 20-inch stretchable panel, an eye-tracking humanoid display concept, a necklace-style AI OLED pendant, and an OLED turntable.
