AOC releases 49-inch ultrawide monitor with 240 Hz QD-OLED display and 1,000-nit HDR

AOC has added a new 49-inch monitor to its Agon Pro gaming lineup. The AGP497UCZD uses a curved QD-OLED panel with a 32:9 aspect ratio, giving it a much wider display area than a standard 16:9 monitor.
It has a 5,120 x 1,440-pixel resolution and a 240 Hz refresh rate. AOC claims a 0.03 ms GtG response time, and the monitor is also VESA ClearMR 13000 certified.
The monitor has a brightness of 250 nits for normal SDR content and can reach up to 1,000 nits in HDR at 3% APL. It supports VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 and covers 99% of DCI-P3 and 98% of Adobe RGB. AOC also claims an average Delta E below 1 and says each monitor is factory calibrated.
Samsung's 49-inch Odyssey OLED G9 G93SD is a close alternative (available on Amazon), with the same 5,120 x 1,440 resolution and 240 Hz refresh rate. AOC uses DisplayPort 2.1 with up to 80 Gbps bandwidth, while Samsung's model has DisplayPort 1.4.
We previously covered AOC's Agon 6 Pro AG326UZD, which uses a smaller 31.5-inch 4K QD-OLED panel with a 240 Hz refresh rate. The AG326UZD has a higher pixel density, while the new model provides a much larger ultrawide display. The new model also supports up to 90 W of USB-C power delivery, compared with 65 W on the AG326UZD.
The monitor also has HDMI 2.1 ports, a second USB-C port and multiple USB-A connections. Its KVM function lets users control two connected computers with one keyboard and mouse.
AOC has added a few gaming tools, including Dark Boost, a dynamic crosshair and an AI-assisted sniper magnifier with three zoom levels. The monitor also supports PBP and PIP modes, along with different screen sizes and aspect ratios.
AOC's OLED Care system includes Pixel Orbiting, Pixel Refresh, Screen Saver and Taskbar Dimmer. The company also uses graphene cooling to help dissipate heat from the panel.
The monitor has two 8 W speakers with DTS Virtual:X. It also features Light FX lighting on the rear, while the stand supports height, swivel and tilt adjustments.
