BenQ launches a new 240Hz QD-OLED gaming monitor

BenQ has expanded its Mobiuz gaming display series with the launch of the EX271QMZ, a 26.5-inch QD-OLED monitor priced at $499.99 in the US.

The EX271QMZ is built on a third-generation QD-OLED panel with a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440, a 240Hz refresh rate, and a 0.03ms GTG response time. It covers 99% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, features a peak HDR brightness of 400 nits, and supports AMD FreeSync Premium. BenQ has also equipped the display with its Color Shuttle platform, offering access to over 120 game-specific color profiles crafted for AAA titles.

To ensure panel longevity, it includes a comprehensive OLED protection suite utilizing a graphene cooling film and dynamic pixel management. Physical inputs are limited to two HDMI 2.1 ports and a single DisplayPort 1.4 connection. The monitor also includes built-in dual 2W speakers and features an ergonomic stand with tilt, swivel, and height adjustments.

The launch comes days after BenQ recalled its GV31 portable projectors. The recall affects units sold worldwide between July 2023 and May 2026, following discoveries that the built-in lithium-ion battery can overheat and ignite, posing a serious fire and burn risk.

BenQ is urging customers to stop using the GV31 immediately and is offering two resolution options. Owners can return their projector for a free battery replacement paired with a firmware update that introduces a dynamic battery management system to prevent excessive aging.

Alternatively, customers can choose a free hardware upgrade to the newer GV32 model, which eliminates the fire hazard by omitting the internal battery entirely and relying exclusively on external power.
