This glossy mini LED gaming monitor with 2304 zones, 4K resolution rocks an exciting price tag

KTC has introduced a new high-end 27-inch gaming monitor, dubbed the M27P6S. The product has already been launched in Singapore, boasting a price tag of just under $500. 

The 27-inch gaming monitor utilizes a Fast IPS panel with mini LED backlighting for excellent contrast performance. The panel sports a resolution of 3840 x 2160, and a peak refresh rate of 160 Hz at 4K. Gamers who'd prefer a faster display at a lower resolution can also switch to a 320 Hz mode, at 1080p.

A total of 2,304 dimming zones are on offer, which should help reduce blooming around bright objects by quite a lot. KTC claims a peak brightness of 550 nits in SDR and 1400 nits in HDR modes. While there definitely are monitors with superior brightness performance, the KTC M27P6S' performance appears to be adequate for its price.

Impressively, the gaming monitor also covers a whopping 99% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, which, if true, should make it a solid choice for content creation and other color sensitive workloads. KTC promises ΔE of less than 2, indicating that color accuracy should be perfectly decent as well.

As spotted by TFTCentral, the KTC M27P6S gaming monitor now features a glossy finish with 0% haze. This should aid color performance a lot, since matte surfaces, by design, scatter light in a way that affects contrast and the overall viewing experience in an adverse manner. However, matte panels do help with reducing reflections a lot, which is why glossy panels are rarer and primarily targeted at folks with controlled lighting environments.

As mentioned earlier, the KTC M27P6S gaming monitor is already available for purchase from KTC's official online store in Singapore. A global launch is likely, since the previous M27P6 was available in many other regions, including the US.

Gamers who do not wish to wait, can either go the importing route, or get their hands on a different gaming monitor with similar specs, such as the TCL R94 gaming monitor, currently available for $650 on Amazon.
