New 27-inch 5K dual-mode gaming monitor arrives with peak 2000-nit brightness and 99% DCI-P3 coverage

Titan Army is a Chinese display manufacturer with a growing footprint in North America. The brand has recently announced a new 27-inch gaming monitor dubbed the P276MX Ultra, featuring a host of exciting high-end features.

The gaming monitor features a mini LED display with a whopping 2,304 dimming zones, which should allow for impressive contrast performance and minimal haloing. The panel boasts a resolution of 5120 x 2880, known colloquially as 5K. This allows for an impressive pixel density of roughly 217 PPI, which will definitely excite folks who care a lot about text clarity and sharpness.

Gamers will also be pleased to note that even at 5K, the gaming monitor can manage an impressive 165 Hz, which can be overclocked to 180 Hz. Fast-paced gamers who desire even higher refresh rates can make use of the monitor's dual-mode functionality, extracting up to 360 Hz at QHD resolution.

Titan Army claims that the P276MX gaming monitor can reach full-screen brightness of 450 nits and a peak HDR brightness of a whopping 2,000 nits in small areas. Color performance should also be very decent, thanks to a claimed 100% coverage of sRGB and 99% coverage of the DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB color gamuts. Color accuracy should be equally impressive if Titan Army's claim of ΔE<1 is to be believed.

The monitor has already been listed on some Hong Kong retailers, with a price tag of HK$6,499 or roughly $829. Titan Army does like to bring some of its products to the US market. The same is also likely to be true for the latest P276MX Ultra gaming monitor, but that remains to be seen.
