Pixio PX32UF: Affordable 4K gaming monitor with dual-mode support arrives in multiple color options

Pixio may not be as popular as Gigabyte or Samsung in the realm of gaming monitors, but the brand is still highly regarded among low-budget gamers and folks who desire the best bang for the buck at a given price point, especially over in Japan where the brand is quite popular.
The brand has announced a new gaming monitor in Japan, dubbed the PX32UF Wave. This 31.5-inch gaming monitor sports a 4K fast IPS panel with a peak refresh rate of 160 Hz. Speed enthusiasts can also bump the refresh rate to a whopping 320 Hz by turning down the resolution to 1080p.
While 1080p at 31.5 inches may not be sufficient for good text clarity, it should be less of a problem for gaming. Besides, there are plenty of fast-paced gamers who care little about anything other than speed.
Pixio also claims a whopping 125% coverage of the sRGB color gamut for the PX32UF, which should make the gaming monitor a solid choice for high-quality content consumption as well. Needless to say, the monitor features a contrast ratio of 1000:1, which is very typical of IPS panels without local dimming.

OLED and mini LED gaming monitors will definitely have a massive advantage in terms of HDR performance and contrast levels, but that is hard to expect at this price point, which we'll get to later.
The gaming monitor also features dual 3-Watt speakers, the quality of which is unlikely to be earth-shattering but should be possible. The I/O on offer is listed below:
- Dual DisplayPort 1.4
- Single HDMI 2.1
- 3.5 mm audio jack
The PX32UF gaming monitor comes in many colors, including blue and pink
Unlike many other gaming monitors on the market, the PX32UF Wave does have a major upper hand in one area: customizability. The monitor comes in a total of four colorways, including black, white, blue, and a cute pink shade.
The monitor is already on sale over in Japan, priced at just under ¥65,000. That is roughly around $407, which does appear to be a pretty good deal for a dual-mode 4K IPS gaming monitor.
Pixio does like to bring its products outside of Japan into the global market, but the exact timeline for the same is yet to be known. For folks in urgent need of a 4K IPS gaming monitor, the Asus ROG XG32UCG (currently $599 on Amazon) might be a good choice.
