Earlier this week, Asus brought its first G-Sync Pulsar-backed gaming monitor to CES 2026 in Las Vegas. At the time, the company indicated that the ROG Strix XG27AQNGV would be available later this month across multiple markets. Surprisingly, the monitor is now available globally, with pre-orders having opened in Europe, the US and the UK, to name but a few.
Fundamentally, the ROG Strix XG27AQNGV is another 27-inch gaming monitor built around a 1440p IPS panel with a 360 Hz refresh rate. In that sense, the ROG Strix XG27AQNGV is similar to the ROG Swift PG27AQN that debuted a few years ago (curr. $679.99 on Amazon). However, G-Sync Pulsar promises to help the ROG Strix XG27AQNGV provide superior motion clarity than its contemporaries.
In short, G-Sync Pulsar uses variable backlight strobing to help keep moving objects in focus. According to Asus and Nvidia, G-Sync Pulsar works with existing G-Sync variable refresh rate (VRR) technology to 'deliver 4x effective motion clarity' for a perceived 1,000 Hz refresh rate. Moreover, the ROG Swift PG27AQN offers 1 ms GtG response times, 400 nits SDR and 500 nits HDR peak brightness plus DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1 (FRL) and twin USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports.
Asus has priced the ROG Swift PG27AQN at $649.99 in the US, where it is currently available from Microcenter and Newegg. Meanwhile, the same monitor retails for £628.99 (~$845) and €749.90 (~$873) in the Eurozone and the UK, respectively. Please see Asus' website for more details.
