Earlier this week, Asus confirmed it would be one of the first companies to leverage Samsung Display's Gen 5 QD-OLED technology with the announcement of the ROG Swift OLED PG34WCDN. At the same time, the company has finally confirmed full specifications for a comparable 34-inch gaming monitor it showcased almost a year ago.
First appearing in May during Computex 2025, the ROG Strix OLED XG34WCDMTG, was initially slated to arrive by October for $1,049 with Nvidia GeForce Now pre-installed. While that did not occur, Asus has expanded upon prior known specifications like 1,000 nits peak brightness, a 1440p resolution and a 240 Hz refresh rate. For example, Asus plans to install Android 14 even almost a year later too, and the following ports:
- 1x 3.5 mm jack
- 1x DisplayPort 1.4 (DSC)
- 2x HDMI 2.1
- 2x USB 2.0 Type-A
- 1x USB Type-C (90 W Power Delivery)
Additionally, the ROG Strix OLED XG34WCDMTG should deliver 250 nits full panel brightness just like all 34-inch gaming monitors before with Gen 2 QD-OLED panels like the Alienware AW3425DW (curr. $799 on Amazon). Moreover, the unreleased monitor sports an anti-reflective coating across its 1800R curvature rather than a glossy alternative favoured by some gamers. Also, Asus has included numerous software features like eight selectable colour temperatures, gamma adjustment and picture-by-picture (PBP) support.
