Asus launched plenty of OLED gaming monitors last year, including the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W and ROG Strix OLED XG27AQWMG with 27-inch panels. Now, the company has started a new year with two new offerings, including the return of the 34-inch panel size after last spring's release of the ROG Strix OLED XG34WCDG (curr. $999.99 on Amazon). For reference, Asus' other new monitor is the ROG Swift OLED PG27UCWM, full details of which we have provided separately.
By contrast, the ROG Swift OLED PG34WCDN joins HP's HyperX Omen OLED 34-inch as one of the first gaming monitors to utilise Samsung Display's Gen 5 QD-OLED technology. On the one hand, this new panel is said to deliver improved text clarity via an RGB Stripe Pixel sub-pixel array. In practice, this change should reduce colour fringing, which remains a shortcoming of existing QD-OLED and WOLED panels. On the other hand, the new QD-OLED panel should reach 500 nits in SDR mode and 1,300 nits across small areas when viewing HDR content.
Additionally, Asus complements this Gen 5 QD-OLED panel with Black Shield, a new coating that the company insists reduces black levels by up to 40% while also delivering 2.5x better scratch resistance. Moreover, the ROG Swift OLED PG34WCDN outputs at 3,440 x 1,440 pixels across its 34-inch and 1800R surface with a 360 Hz refresh rate, 0.03 ms GtG response times and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro/Nvidia G-Sync VRR technologies.
On top of that, Asus' new 34-inch monitor boasts DisplayPort 2.1a (UHBR20), HDMI 2.1 (FRL) and USB Type-C (90 W/DP Alt) ports with a KVM switch for its 3-port USB Type-A hub. Asus has not commented on pricing or availability yet. However, the fact that the company is exhibiting the ROG Swift OLED PG34WCDN this week during CES 2026 in Las Vegas indicates that an early 2026 launch is on the cards in some capacity.
