Large, fast and high-resolution: The UColor 19 Apex is a new monitor that is designed for portability and versatility, making it perfect for both productive applications and gaming.
The UColor 19 Apex from manufacturer Uperfect is a new mobile monitor that can be used for a wide range of purposes. The model has a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 and a screen diagonal of 19 inches, allowing for the simultaneous use of multiple programs on its relatively large display. It can also be used for gaming, as the panel provides a 144 Hz refresh rate and a response time of less than one millisecond. This makes the monitor compatible with gaming PCs, consoles or even gaming laptops.
The display, available directly via the manufacturer, is a QLED monitor that is said to cover the entire sRGB color space. The brightness is specified as 500 cd/m², which is perfectly sufficient for indoor use. The weight is specified as around one kilogram and the thickness around 7 millimeters. A kickstand is included, eliminating the need for an additional stand. Mounting on a VESA mount is also possible.
The UColor 19 Apex can be used with just a single cable, such as via a PC or notebook, but both image output and electrical power output must be supported via USB-C. Mini HDMI is also available, but a second cable is required for power supply in this case.

I have been active as a journalist for over 10 years, most of it in the field of technology. I worked for Tom’s Hardware and ComputerBase, among others, and have been working for Notebookcheck since 2017. My current focus is particularly on mini PCs and single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi – so in other words, compact systems with a lot of potential. In addition, I have a soft spot for all kinds of wearables, especially smartwatches. My main profession is as a laboratory engineer, which is why neither scientific contexts nor the interpretation of complex measurements are foreign to me.

Growing up in regional Australia, I first became acquainted with computers in my early teens after a broken leg from a football (soccer) match temporarily condemned me to a predominately indoor lifestyle. Soon afterwards I was building my own systems. Now I live in Germany, having moved here in 2014, where I study philosophy and anthropology. I am particularly fascinated by how computer technology has fundamentally and dramatically reshaped human culture, and how it continues to do so.
