8BitDo has now clarified that the Ultimate 3E will retail for $149.99 in the US. Pricing for other regions remains unknown for now.
Original article continues as follows:
At the end of last year, 8BitDo teased the launch of a new wireless controller. Resembling the Ultimate 2 Wireless (curr. $59.99 on Amazon) from the single image shown, the controller did not initially have a name. Instead, 8BitDo indicated that its 'Pro' controller would be unveiled during CES 2026.
Now, the company has revealed its mysterious controller as the Ultimate 3E. Designed for Xbox and PC, the new controller also provides compatibility for Apple and Android devices, as well as the older Xbox One. In short, the Ultimate 3E carries over a few features from the Ultimate 2 Wireless like three sets of shoulder buttons, TMR joysticks, two back buttons and an integrated wireless charging dock.
Additionally, 8BitDo has included RGB lighting, trigger switches and 6-axis motion controls. Unfortunately, the latter is only supported on PC. Likewise, 8BitDo's quoted 1,000 Hz polling rate is not supported on Xbox consoles. However, the Ultimate 3E takes things a step further by adopting a wider grip angle for superior ergonomics.
Moreover, new silicone grips should improve comfort during extended gameplay. Other changes from the Ultimate 2 Wireless include comparatively deep customisation options. As the images above and below show, the Ultimate 3E supports swappable joysticks, d-pads, ABXY modules and even a removable front plate. 8BitDo has not confirmed pricing yet, although it has hinted that a release will occur between April and the end of June 2026.
