AMD has not officially announced the Ryzen 7 9850X3D yet, but leaks over the past few months have strongly suggested that this CPU exists. And now, a listing from a French retailer adds more weight to those claims and even points to a possible launch date.
The listing comes from LDLC, a well-known retailer in France. On its website, the Ryzen 7 9850X3D appears with a January 29 release date, suggesting it could launch later this month. That would put it just a few weeks away, making an official announcement likely very soon. In fact, AMD is expected to reveal it during CES 2026, which will kick off tomorrow, on January 6.
At the moment, LDLC has not listed a price for the processor, but we’re expecting it to be priced similarly to the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, which launched at $479. In terms of specifications, they line up closely with previous leaks. The processor is expected to feature the same number of cores and threads as the 9800X3D: 8 and 16. The TDP also remains at 120W, so the power requirements should stay the same.
The main upgrade appears to be the clock speed. Instead of the 5.2 GHz boost clock found on the 9800X3D, the 9850X3D is expected to reach up to 5.6 GHz. This higher boost clock should help it deliver better performance and give overclockers more headroom. The LDLC listing also describes the processor as “Ready for AI” with “built-in AI acceleration and enhanced AI capabilities,” which suggests that AMD could be positioning the chip for productivity and content creation tasks alongside gaming.
