Just like its rival, GameSir, 8BitDo has announced it will be attending CES 2026. It won't just be showcasing existing products, it will also be launching a new controller.
According to a post on its social media channels, the new controller will be unveiled at the tech show on the 5th of January 2026 at 8 AM PST. Attached to the post is a teaser image for the controller. Based on the image, we know the controller will be available in purple, like the 8BitDo Ultimate 2 Wireless (currently available on Amazon for $47.99).
We can also make out an LED ring around the thumbstick, which has a patterned and unusually thick joystick cap. Another important detail is that the controller's grip is textured on both the front and back, as most 8BitDo controllers only have a textured underside.
It is hard to guess which controller this is, but one thing that seems certain is that this isn't a special edition of an existing controller, but a new controller entirely.
Thankfully, there are just a few weeks of waiting before the controller launches, so we should know all about it soon.
