GameSir has announced a new mobile controller designed for iPhones and the iPad Mini. Called the GameSir G8 Plus MFi, the new telescopic controller is the first GameSir controller to have the Made for iPhone/iPad certification. According to GameSir, this means the controller “ensures reliable performance, stable connectivity, and full compatibility across iOS devices.”
The controller is available in a single white variant with gray thumbsticks, D-Pad, shoulder buttons, and triggers. It connects to supported iPhones and iPads via a movable USB-C port for a low-latency connection. There's also support for pass-through charging, so you can charge and play.
The GameSir G8 Plus MFi has a mechanical D-Pad, membrane ABXY buttons, Hall Effect thumbsticks, and Hall Effect analog triggers. There are also two customizable back buttons on the laser-engraved grips. It also features a detachable magnetic faceplate, so users can customize the thumbsticks and the ABXY layout of the controller to fit their preference.
In addition to USB-C, the GameSir G8 Plus MFi also has an audio jack. The spec sheet also mentions that the controller is compatible with Android. However, supported devices must have a maximum compatible length of 215 mm/8.46 inches. This means it should work with compact Android tablets such as the Xiaomi Pad Mini/Redmi K Pad.
Unlike the standard GameSir G8 Plus (available on Amazon for $79.99) which has a battery and Bluetooth connectivity, the G8 Plus MFi controller lacks both. It also doesn't have a gyroscope.
The GameSir G8 Plus MFi is available to buy now on Amazon for $79.99. It is also available to purchase directly from GameSir for the same price.
