8BitDo Ultimate 2C Bluetooth Controller gets a Transparent Black variant, but it's exclusive to Best Buy

8BitDo has been churning out new controllers lately. Last week, it announced the 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Wireless Controller in Transparent Black. Then it unveiled a new colorway for the 8BitDo 64 Bluetooth Controller. Now, it has announced a new color option for the 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Bluetooth Controller.

The 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Bluetooth is the version of the Ultimate 2C that is compatible with the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. First announced in December 2024, the controller was initially available in Blue, Pink, and Dark Blue. Then in August, 8BitDo partnered with Viture to release a special edition with a Smoky Translucent shell.

The new color is called Translucent Black, and brings the available color options to five. The new color option has the same translucent shell as the Translucent Black 8BitDo Ultimate Wireless, but differs from the wireless variant with the red rings around the thumbsticks and the red font used for the ABXY buttons. In addition, the 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Bluetooth also has a Switch layout since it is designed for the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.

Save for the color, the refreshed 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Bluetooth is no different from the other color options. The controller has asymmetrical Hall Effect thumbsticks, remappable extra bumpers (R4 and L4), non-linear digital triggers, six-axis motion control, and rumble vibration. It connects to the Switch via Bluetooth and USB-C wired.

The Transparent Black edition of the 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Bluetooth is exclusive to Best Buy and it is available to buy now for $29.99, but if you don't care for the new color, Amazon has the Blue variant discounted to $23.69 for Black Friday.
