The 8BitDo Ultimate 2C wireless controller is one of the most popular budget options for PC gaming. Originally launched in four colorways and later expanded with the Brownie and Blueberry editions, the Hall-effect gamepad is now getting a shiny new transparent variant.
As the name suggests, the new Ultimate 2C Wireless Controller – Transparent Black Edition features a dark finish with a clear faceplate that shows its inner workings. Green accents on the ABXY buttons and joysticks add a nice contrast, setting the new model apart from the rest of the lineup.
Anti-drift Hall effect joysticks for under $30
Apart from the new paint job, the rest of the features remain unchanged. The controller still uses Hall-effect joysticks and triggers, which help prevent stick drift and offer more precise control ideal for games like racers. It also has a 1,000 Hz polling rate, two additional R4 and L4 shoulder buttons, and a turbo function.
Buyers can preorder the new Transparent Black Edition from Amazon or the 8BitDo store for $29.99, the same RRP as the other variants. It’s compatible with Windows and Android, and supports both wired and wireless modes via Bluetooth or the included 2.4G adapter. However, like the standard model, this edition doesn’t support the Nintendo Switch.
