CRKD has finally announced the Nitro Deck 2 for the Nintendo Switch 2. The controller also works with older Switch models and can be used as a wired or wireless controller for other devices.

CRKD has announced a successor to its Nitro Deck controller accessory for the original Nintendo Switch. The new Nitro Deck 2 is designed for the Nintendo Switch 2, but is also backward compatible with the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch OLED.

The Nitro Deck 2 is said to be an improvement over its predecessor, “offering greater comfort, precision, and performance”. CRKD says the ergonomics has improved, and the controller now features drift-free CRKD CaptiStick Technology, which uses capacitor-based thumbsticks and a zero-contact design that prevents wear.

The Nitro Deck 2 is able to fit the Switch 2, Switch OLED, and Switch, thanks to its retractable design. Rather than sliding the Switch 2/Switch/Switch OLED into the controller, owners will place it into it and use the dial at the back to secure it in place.

Due to this design, there is no longer a USB-C port, so the controller connects wirelessly. However, CRKD includes a legacy adapter with a USB-C port for the original Switch and Switch OLED, while a U-shaped adapter is included for the Switch 2 (available on Amazon for $499.99) for a lag-free wired mode.

In addition to being compatible with the Nintendo Switch models, the Nitro Deck 2 can be used as a wireless or wired controller for other devices such as a PC, smartphone, tablet, and a smart TV. There's an included centerpiece for a clean setup so that it can be used as a pro controller.

The Nitro Deck 2 has four customizable back buttons, digital triggers, and a metal kickstand. It also has support for motion control and the rumble can be adjusted. Like its predecessor, it is compatible with the CRKD app, which lets users customize and calibrate the controller. It can also be used to update the firmware.

The CRKD Nitro Deck 2 is available in White and Shadow Black (translucent) with a price tag of $99.99 in the US, £89.99 in the UK, and €99.99 in Europe. There is also a hard-shell carrying case that costs $39.99/£34.99/€39.99, while a pack of four D-Pad and a pack of eight thumbstick caps cost $19.99/£19.99/€19.99 each. The controller is available to pre-order now and is expected to ship in Spring 2026.
