Microsoft has expanded its lineup of themed controllers with new special edition models of the standard Xbox Wireless Controller and the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 (curr. $129.99 on Amazon). As the images make clear, Microsoft's latest releases focus on the Fallout universe.
Specifically, both are being sold as the Pip-Boy Edition and feature designs that draw directly from the Fallout franchise. For example, the pair adopt Fallout's signature green tones, as well as HUD iconography from the Pip-Boy device itself. Moreover, Microsoft has included a textured back case to improve ergonomics, which it complements with bumper and trigger grips.
The standard Pip-Boy controller can be pre-ordered on Amazon and from Microsoft directly, but only for a limited time. As with other recent Xbox controller releases, the Pip-Boy Edition can be customised with other Fallout-themed designs via the Xbox Design Lab. By contrast, the Elite Series 2 can only be purchased from Microsoft through the Xbox Design Lab. Pricing starts at $82.97 for the standard model and rises to $164.58 for the Elite variant.
