2026 will be a good year for Cyberpunk 2077 and Edgerunner fans. A new kind of Cyberpunk experience is on the horizon, and this one doesn’t require a controller or a screen. Fans of the series will be able to dive into Night City in a whole new way with the officially licensed Cyberpunk Trading Card Game (TCG), developed by WeirdCo in collaboration with CD PROJEKT RED, coming to Kickstarter in 2026.

Featuring characters and lore from Cyberpunk 2077 and Edgerunners, this officially licensed card game will let fans build their own edgerunner crews in a brand-new format. It’s all kicking off with a Kickstarter campaign in 2026, and giving early followers a chance to grab an exclusive Lucy card.

While the exact gameplay details are still under wraps, fans can expect a mix of strategic depth and thematic flair if the rest of the Cyberpunk properties have any influence on the TCG. Imagine characters wielding Netrunner-like abilities or cards that nod to control mechanics akin to those in Magic: The Gathering, or fast-slicing 'Mantis Arm' decks that bring the franchise’s iconic cyberware to life. The Cyberpunk theme might be the perfect avenue to bring about a fresh new tactical layer to the TCG genre with all of the creative paths available in the lore. And look at that card art!

While we’re starting with a physical release, I can’t help but imagine how amazing a digital version would be, battling other chooms on the go while making our names known across Night City. If the same artistic flair put into the cards is carried over into the UI, themed boards, and scenes, along with a full Cyberpunk soundscape, it would be an absolutely preem experience. If WeirdCo plays their cards right, we could have a real legend on (and in) our hands. As a fan of trading card games like Magic: The Gathering, and the recent Cyberpunk releases, I’m incredibly excited to see the Cyberpunk 2077 and Edgerunner universe get its own TCG.
