Cyberpunk 2077 is officially done and dusted

Cyberpunk 2077 recently hit Xbox Game Pass, and that happened over five years after release. With that, came speculations about new content coming to the game since there were talks about a second expansion following Phantom Liberty. While nothing was confirmed by CD Projekt Red, the teasers certainly didn’t help with the speculation. Now, finally, the company has officially confirmed that they have moved on from Cyberpunk 2077.
Commenting on the Xbox Game Pass announcement post on X, a user asked the studio when the “secret new DLC” would be coming. The studio responded by clarifying that they have no plans for additional DLCs or expansions. “If anything changes, we will inform you all!,” the post adds. This puts all the speculation about another expansion to rest. Those looking for more content in the Cyberpunk universe will have to wait for the sequel, which is several years away at this point.

The Phantom Liberty expansion was released in September 2023 and it added a few new missions, side quests, and a whole new story arc. Since then, there have been multiple patches that optimized the game further, as well as added a couple new features like CrystalCoat paint jobs for vehicles and an improved photo mode. Patch 2.3 was the final update, released in July last year.
Cyberpunk 2 is in development and the CD Projekt Red team has grown with the studio estimating 350 to 500 devs needed to hit the timelines and avoid delays. Rumors surrounding the project have claimed that the game will have online multiplayer. More concrete information is that the environment will have a ‘Chicago gone wrong’ feel, which comes from the creator of the Cyberpunk universe, Mike Pondsmith himself.
