Arc Raiders winter update is almost here, said to bring new ways to die
Embark Studio has set a new standard for extraction shooters with the highly successful Arc Raiders. The game is being praised by most and the developers are working to further improve player experience, including adding new content. Now, the team has announced that the highly anticipated winter update is almost here, bringing possibly new ways for raiders to die topside.
Fans have been asking for a while now and Embark has responded with a release date for the winter update. The new setting will arrive on December 16, bringing cosmetic changes to the existing maps, possibly new maps and tools, as well as potential new ways to lose your loot. Players are excited for the upcoming update with some suspecting a possibility of freezing to death while out in the cold. This could add new mechanics to Arc Raiders such as finding shelter and heat.
This comes shortly after the Expedition reset announcement. There will be an optional wipe and reset on December 22 as part of the Expedition system and players will lose almost everything they have acquired during their numerous raids. This is typical of extraction shooters as it ensures a select few players don’t become overpowered with a maxed-out skill tree and high-level items. Players will get to sign up for the Expedition starting December 17 and when the window closes on December 22, they will have to restart.
