Honor has expanded its Play series lineup by introducing a new Play 60A smartphone in China. The company’s new affordable smartphone is now available for sale in its home turf via the Honor China store, starting at CNY 1,599 ($220) for a single 6 GB + 128 GB variant. Buyers can choose from azure sky, inky black, and lake blue color options. However, there’s no word on international availability yet.
Unlike the last-generation model, this time around, Honor went with a MediaTek chipset. Speaking more precisely, the Honor Play 60A is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor paired with up to 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage with no room for storage expansion.
The affordable smartphone offers a decent camera setup, featuring a 13 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front camera for capturing selfies and video chats. As for display, it sports a 6.75-inch TFT LCD with HD+ (1600 x 720) resolution and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. Software-wise, it runs Android 15-based MagicOS 9.0 out of the box. A 5,300 mAh battery powers the entire unit and supports 15 W wired charging.
The Play 60A measures just 7.8 mm (0.30 inch) in thickness and weighs around 187 grams (0.41 lbs). The rest of the highlights include a 3.5 mm headphone jack, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, and 5G connectivity support.
