Motorola has now officially confirmed the launch date for its latest mid-range smartphone. Speaking more precisely, the Edge 70 will be launching in India on December 15. Ahead of the official launch, Motorola has also confirmed key features and color variants of the smartphone via Flipkart. However, there’s no word on the pricing yet, but what we know is that it will be available to buy on Motorola’s official website, Flipkart, and other authorized retailers.
As for dimensions, the smartphone will feature a thickness of just 5.99 mm and will compete directly with the Galaxy S25 Edge (curr. available at $849.98 on Amazon) and the Tecno Pova Slim smartphones. The mid-range smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor. Software-wise, it’s said to run on Motorola’s Hello UI-based Android 16 out of the box, and the company is promising three major OS updates (Android 17, 18, and 19) and four years of security patches until 2031.
The battery capacity of the smartphone will also be similar to the global model, featuring a 5,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery that supports 68 W wired and 15 W wireless charging. Motorola has also revealed the camera specs of the Edge 70. It will offer dual 50 MP rear cameras and another 50 MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats.
Furthermore, the Edge 70 will come with an IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance rating, military-grade MIL-STD-810H, and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection for protecting against accidental falls and scratches. The smartphone will be available in three Pantone-curated options, including bronze green, gadget gray, and lily pad.
