Oppo is launching smartphones back-to-back in its budget-focused A6 series lineup. After unveiling the A6 5G last month, the company has now launched a new A6x 5G smartphone in the Indian market, alongside the 4G variant. Both models share some similar features in terms of display, camera, and battery.
However, the significant difference between the 5G and 4G variants is the chipset. The Oppo A6x 5G variant is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, while the 4G model ships with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 chipset. Speaking of memory options, the A6x 4G is available in three memory options, including 4 GB + 64 GB, 4 GB + 128 GB, and 6 GB + 256 GB trims. On the other hand, the 5G model comes with 4 GB + 64/128 GB and 6 GB + 128 GB memory options.
Both models come with a 6.75-inch LCD display that outputs at 1570 x 720 pixels with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,125 nits. For photography, they feature a dual rear camera setup, consisting of a 13 MP primary camera and an unknown secondary lens just to fill the gap. Upfront, you get a 5 MP snapper for capturing selfies and video chats.
As for battery, the Oppo A6x 5G and 4G models ship with the same 6,500 mAh battery. However, the former supports 45 W wired charging (Anker Nano 45 W charger curr. available at $34.99 on Amazon), while the latter has no fast charging support. Other features include a 3.5 mm headphone jack, an IP64 waterproof rating, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and Wi-Fi 5 connectivity support.
Available in olive green and ice blue colorways, the Oppo A6x 5G starts at INR 12,499 for the base 64 GB variant, and the 4 GB + 128 GB and 6 GB + 128 GB variants are priced at INR 13,499 and INR 14,999, respectively. Buyers can now purchase the 5G model in India via Oppo’s official website and other authorized retailers. The A6x 4G model starts at RM 399 and is now available in Malaysia in plum purple and ice blue color options.
