The Google Pixel Watch 4 comes with a proprietary charging cable that also holds the smartwatch upright. Accessory manufacturer Mous has now launched the first charger for Google's latest smartwatch that isn't just a holder for Google's charging cable, but actually features Google's official charging hardware.
The Mous Pixel Watch 4 charger charges the smartwatch at up to 5.6 watts, making it just as powerful as Google's own charging cable. To ensure full power, the charger must be connected to a USB-C power adapter with a minimum output of 7.5 watts. A unique feature is the pogo pins on the left side of the charger, which allow another compatible Mous charger to be connected magnetically.
The charger's housing is made partly of aluminum alloy and partly of polycarbonate, which contains 35% recycled material. Measuring 7 x 8.75 x 2.44 centimeters and weighing 144 grams, the charging station is nowhere near as compact as Google's charging cable, which weighs only 39 grams.
Price and availability
The Mous Pixel Watch 4 charger is now available for $49.99 in the Google Store. By comparison, Google's own charging dock costs $24.99. Mous includes a 1.5-meter USB-C to USB-C charging cable, but a compatible USB-C power adapter must be purchased separately.
