Google has started rolling out its monthly software update for January 2026, bringing a set of bug fixes and performance improvements to supported Pixel devices. According to Google, all eligible Pixel phones running Android 16 will begin receiving the update starting today. As usual, the rollout will happen in phases over the coming week. Once the update is available for your phone, you’ll see a notification prompting you to download and install it.
This month’s update focuses mainly on fixing bugs and improving system stability rather than adding new features. For Pixel 10 devices, Google has addressed several display-related issues. These include a fix for the Always-On Display flickering under certain conditions, as well as an issue where noisy lines could flash on the screen while editing HDR photos in Adobe Lightroom. Google has also rolled out general GPU performance improvements, which should help with smoother visuals in some scenarios. In addition, the update fixes a bug that could cause the touchscreen to stop responding randomly.
For Pixel 8 and newer models, the update includes a fix for battery drain that occurred in certain situations. This should help improve overall battery life and reduce unexpected power loss. Google has also resolved an issue causing noisy ringback tones during Webex calls. This particular fix applies to the Pixel 7a as well.
