IKEA has launched the SJÖSS 20W 1-port USB charger in North America and across several countries in Europe. This new model is designed for phones, tablets, and other small devices and comes in significantly cheaper and more compact than the 65W SJÖSS charger the company released in October.
As the name suggests, the SJÖSS 20W offers a single USB-C port that outputs up to 20W, making it suitable for topping up smartphones. It supports multiple fast charging protocols, including Power Delivery (PD 3.0) and Quick Charge (QC 3.0). According to the official specs, it delivers up to 3.0A and 20.0W with the following power profiles:
- 5.0V 3.0A (15.0W)
- 9.0V 2.22A (20.0W)
- 12.0V 1.67A (20.0W)
- 15.0V 1.33A (20.0W)
At $3.99, the SJÖSS 20W 1-port USB charger massively undercuts the Apple 20W adapter (curr: $14.99 at Amazon) while offering the same output. It is not powerful enough for laptops, but it makes a solid budget choice for phones, tablets, and smaller devices like smartwatches and earbuds. In Europe, the charger is listed for €2.99 in Slovakia and Slovenia and slightly higher at €4 in Germany. Buyers can purchase the SJÖSS 20W 1-port USB charger directly from IKEA.
