The IKEA Kulglass Bluetooth speaker lamp is now available in various countries worldwide. This product was unveiled a few weeks ago as part of a wider collection designed in collaboration with Tekla Evelina Severin (Teklan).
According to IKEA, the Kulglass can be used to create a relaxing experience to wind down in the evening, or to get the party started. Thanks to Bluetooth connectivity, you can wirelessly share music, a podcast or an audiobook from a phone, laptop or tablet. Plus, the Spotify Tap feature allows you to quickly resume listening to the last track or episode, or to generate a playlist based on your favourite artists.
IKEA suggests that the Kulglass speaker will deliver a “rich and powerful” sound. It features a 1-inch tweeter and a 3.5-inch woofer. You can also use the multi-speaker mode to link various Bluetooth speakers for an enhanced audio experience. On top of the speaker base is a colored glass shade for a diffused lighting effect. Both the light’s brightness and the speaker’s volume can be adjusted using a built-in knob, with buttons to switch between the two modes. It measures 15 x 79 x 11 inches (~267 x 387 x 200 mm).
You can now buy the IKEA Kulglass Bluetooth speaker lamp in dark green for $99.99 in the US, and for €99.99 in EU countries like Spain, France and Germany. The red brown/pink version is more expensive in the US, retailing for $129.99 in the US. In the EU, it is the same price as the green variant, costing €99.99. It is worth noting that the light bulb is sold separately, with IKEA recommending an LED E27 globe bulb.
