IKEA launches three new Qi2-certified wireless chargers

IKEA has launched three new wireless chargers in select countries worldwide. These accessories all sit under the new Västmärke range, with different features suited to a range of use cases.

The first accessory is the Västmärke Wireless charger, a doughnut-shaped gadget with a bright red silicone case. The top half of the accessory contains the charging pad, with magnets to hold a compatible smartphone in place. The lower half of the gadget can fold out to act as a grip, and is hollow to store the connected USB-C cable. It measures 2 x 1 inches (~6 x 3 cm).

Next is the Västmärke Wireless charging stand, designed for use on a bedside table or desk, or to show a recipe while you are working in the kitchen. You can position your phone horizontally or vertically, with the device held in place with a magnet. This model has a cork base and measures 3.25 x 27.5 x 4.5 (~8 x 12 x 7 cm).

The last accessory is the Västmärke Wireless charger with lighting. This two-in-one device has a bowl-shaped design to hold keys and other small items, and can also be used as a mood light or a night light. You can switch on the light by pressing the central wireless charging puck. Made in part from glass, this product measures 10.5 x 2.5 x 11.0 inches (~27 x 7 x 28 cm).

All of the IKEA Västmärke wireless chargers are Qi2.0 certified, delivering an up to 15W output. They are compatible with PD 3.0 and QC 2.0, and come with a 47 inch (~120 cm) long USB-C cable. It is worth noting that users must supply their own USB-C charger, with the company recommending its Sjöss 20W USB fast charger.

You can now buy the IKEA Västmärke wireless chargers in countries like the US, Italy and Germany. The Västmärke Wireless charger costs $9.99/€9.99, the Västmärke Wireless charging stand is priced at $24.99/€12.99, and the Västmärke Wireless charger with lighting retails for $24.99/€19.99. It is unclear when these products will roll out more widely across Europe.
