Alongside the Solskydd Bluetooth speakers, IKEA also announced the Kulglass Bluetooth speaker lamp. Available in two colors, the speaker is hidden in the lamp's stem, while the ribbed lamp shade provides diffused light.
According to the designer, Tekla Evelina Severin (Teklan), she wanted to create something that appeals to all the senses and evokes feelings of nostalgia. She adds that soft-serve ice cream, cherry blossoms, classic Art Deco, and Japanese Kokeshi dolls are inspirations for the design of the Kulglass Bluetooth speaker lamp.
The lamp features a polyester fabric-covered stem with a matching knob for volume control and an ABS plastic base with rubber feet to keep it from sliding. The lampshade is made of glass, but buyers will need to provide their own bulb.
The Bluetooth speaker has a 1-inch tweeter and a 3.5-inch woofer, and like the Solskydd, features Spotify Tap function. It also supports multi-speaker mode, which allows users to connect it to other IKEA Bluetooth speakers with the same feature.
The Kulglass Bluetooth speaker is priced at $129.99 and is available in Green and Red-Brown with Pink. It will be available to purchase globally starting in December, but the exact launch dates will vary by market.
