The IKEA Home Smart app has been updated. In the first half of November 2025, the company issued two more versions of its app, 1.57.0 and 1.57.1, for iOS and Android users.
With this update, IKEA is pushing support for Matter to all users. The Dirigera Hub has been able to act as a Matter controller since earlier this year, though the feature was in beta testing at this time. Now available for everyone with the hub, this functionality allows users to connect a wide range of smart home devices from other brands to the IKEA hub.
Thread 1.4 is also being rolled out to users. This version of the wireless protocol allows you to create a shared Thread network or to join an existing Thread network. Previously, users could not choose to join an existing Thread network. This should improve the stability of your smart home. Through the IKEA Home Smart app’s settings, you can view the current network to which their Dirigera Hub is connected and make adjustments as necessary.
The IKEA Dirigera Hub was updated at the end of October 2025, bringing Matter 1.3 to the device, which added support for third-party water leak sensors and energy-measuring plugs. Plus, the smart home hub has been certified for Matter 1.4 by the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA), though it is unclear when this update will reach users. On top of this, IKEA has announced a range of upcoming Matter-compatible smart light bulbs, smart sensors, smart plugs and remote controls, which are scheduled for launch in early 2026.
You can download the latest version of the IKEA Home Smart app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.
