The Tapo S110E Smart Switch Module is now available in Europe. Unveiled earlier this year, this gadget can be used to control a wide range of smart home devices.
This compact Tapo relay module offers both dry and wet contact modes for wide compatibility. In dry contact mode, it works with garage doors, boilers and sprinkler systems, while wet contact mode is for lighting, electric floor heating and power outlets. You can remotely control connected devices through the Tapo smartphone app, where you can also set up a schedule or geo-fencing rules. Alternatively, you can use voice commands to adjust the linked smart home products.
It can automatically detect the direction of current, for an easier set-up, and it can be used to monitor solar power generation and consumption. The device offers Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connectivity, with support for offline device management and the ability to automatically reconnect after a network outage. It is a Matter-certified device, working with Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home, Samsung SmartThings, and IFTTT. Other features of the switch, said to last ten times longer than competitor products, include protection against issues like relay failure, overheating and overload. It measures 44.7 × 33.9 × 16.1 mm (~1.8 x 1.3 x 0.6 inches), meaning it can fit behind a switch or in a wall outlet.
You can now buy the Tapo S110E Smart Switch Module in Germany for €19.90 at the brand’s online store. It will shortly also be available via the brand’s Amazon storefront in this country, and it is expected to be released in other European countries like the UK at some point in the future.
