Philips Hue has released an update for its smartphone app. Version 5.55 is now available for iOS and Android users, arriving a couple of weeks after the last release, version 5.54. The older update brought support for voice commands for the Hue AI Assistant and a new option for the Motion Aware feature.
In version 5.55, Philips Hue adds further improvements for the Hue AI Assistant. You can now use this tool to create automations by describing the intended behaviour to the bot. The assistant will generate the relevant automation, which can be manually adjusted by the user. It is worth noting that the Hue AI Assistant is only available when the app language is set to English, and it is not yet available in all countries.
There are also two Hue Secure-related changes. Firstly, users can now use shortcuts on Hue Secure alerts to make quick changes from their lock screen. For example, users can mark an event as safe or turn off a light directly from the notification linked to their smart camera or sensor. The second improvement is linked to Secure timeline events. These are now categorized, which the company suggests makes it even easier to scan through the history of captured footage.
You can now download the Philips Hue app version 5.55 from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
