TP-Link has released the Tapo C465 Enhanced AI Solar Security Camera in Europe. This 4K 8MP model was unveiled earlier this year, and it offers features like AI detection and color night vision. Plus, it is designed for use outdoors, with a solar panel to extend the device’s battery life.

The TP-Link Tapo C465 Enhanced AI Solar Security Camera is rolling out across Europe. Unveiled at CES 2025 at the start of the year, this outdoor smart camera is now available in two countries in this region.

The Tapo C465 is a 4K UHD (3,840 x 2,160 px) 8MP security camera with a 135° FOV, 18x digital zoom and color night vision. It is designed to help you keep an eye on your property, detecting people, vehicles and animals using AI; this feature is offered free of charge. You can create alerts and alarms to suit your needs, tailoring the monitored zone in the accompanying app.

Above the camera is a solar panel, with the company suggesting that 50 minutes of sunlight provides enough energy to power the device for another 24 hours. There is a back-up 7,800 mAh battery, providing up to 180 days of runtime between charges. The camera supports dual-band 2.4 GHz/5 GHz Wi-Fi, with users able to store footage on an up to 512 GB microSD card (not included) or in the cloud with a Tapo Care subscription. This is an IP65-rated dust and water-resistant device, operating in temperatures between -40 and 140°F (-40 and 60°C).

You can now buy the TP-Link Tapo C465 Enhanced AI Solar Security Camera in countries like the UK and Germany at Amazon for £149.99/€129.90. It is unclear when this product will be available in other EU markets or when it could officially reach North America.
