A new range of smart controls and plugs from IKEA has been announced. The upcoming range includes two Bilresa remote controls and the Grillplats smart plug, all of which leaked earlier this year via the Distributed Compliance Ledger (DCL), where they were confirmed as Matter-certified devices.
The first new IKEA product is the Bilresa remote control with dual button, and the second is the Bilresa remote control with scroll wheel. Designed to allow users to control smart home devices from across the room, they offer a range of functions. For example, the remotes can switch a smart light on or off, adjust its brightness or change its color. As suggested by their names, the differences between these two remotes are the button or scroll controls. Plus, customers will be able to purchase Bilresa Remote Control Kits, which include three different colored versions of these remotes.
The Grillplats smart plug will be available in versions for the US, the UK and the EU markets. Users will be able to remotely control the connected appliance, such as a regular lamp or an iron, through the IKEA Home Smart app. On top of this, you can monitor the device’s energy consumption and set it to be triggered by a connected sensor.
The IKEA Bilresa remote control with dual button, the Bilresa remote control with scroll wheel and the Grillplats smart plug are expected to launch in January 2026. In the UK, it is reported that the dual button remote will cost £3, while the scroll wheel version will be priced at £4; pricing for other markets has yet to be announced.
