A new update has arrived for the IKEA Dirigera hub. This is the first release for the smart home hub in around three months, following an update at the end of July 2025 which brought a new authentication option for Sonos users and several bug fixes.
With the latest release, Dirigera Hub version 2.866.3, IKEA has added support for Matter 1.3. This means that the product can now be connected to Matter-compatible water leak sensors and energy-measuring plugs from other brands. This should include products like the TP-Link Tapo Mini Smart Wi-Fi Plug (curr. $9.99 at Amazon).
Another change is linked to Adaptive Lighting. Back in July 2025, with Dirigera Hub version 2.805.6, IKEA changed the way that this feature worked. Initially, regardless of manual changes to the brightness or color of a smart light, Adaptive Lighting would resume when you switched the light on and off again. After this July update, manual inputs would result in Adaptive Lighting being completely switched off. Now, users of the Dirigera Hub can choose to have Adaptive Lighting as a default state, so it will automatically reactivate after any changes.
The change log also indicates that the release brings some bug fixes and general improvements to the smart home hub, without providing further details. Dirigera Hub version 2.866.3 should be pushed to the device automatically. However, it can also be triggered via the IKEA Home Smart app.
