Philips Hue unlocks colorful themed scenes for smart lights

Halloween scenes are available in the Philips Hue app. The company often releases seasonal dynamic lighting effects for its users; for example, in September, it added a new Harvest Hues section in the Hue Scene gallery to celebrate fall.

With Halloween approaching on October 31st, users of Philips Hue smart lights can already access eight scenes on the theme of this holiday. While the company added two new lighting effects in 2024, there are no new scenes this year. This means that users can choose between the following eight options:

• Trick or treat
• Glowing Grins
• Spellbound
• Witching hour
• Pandemonium
• Phantom
• Toil and Trouble
• Hocus Pocus

It is worth noting that some of these scenes include Candlelight or Fireplace effects, though these are only compatible with some Philips Hue smart lights, like the Philips Hue Smart LED A21 Bulb, White and Color Ambiance (curr. $167.72 for 4-pack at Amazon). There is the ability to customize this Halloween-themed lighting in the Philips Hue app, adjusting the speed, intensity and color.

Users can access these scenes now, without the need to update the Philips Hue app for iOS or Android. You can find them when you access the Hue Scene gallery for a group or a single light. The Philips Hue Halloween scenes are expected to be automatically removed from the app in early November.
