Philips Hue has added new seasonal lighting effects to its smartphone app. These seem to have arrived with the latest update, version 5.51.0, though they were not named in the change log. Here, the release notes simply stated that there were “various bug fixes and stability improvements”.
As reported by Hueblog.com, the collection of nine fall-themed dynamic lighting effects has appeared in the Hue scene gallery, under the banner “Harvest Hues”. The first is Golden hours, an older 24 hour option which adjusts the lighting throughout the day to sync with your circadian rhythm. As you might expect, there are many orange-heavy scenes, like Amber robin, Autumn gold, Fall harvest and Pumpkin spice. Users can also choose from other options with a wider range of colors, like Pumpkin patch, Downtown drizzle, Woodland toadstool and November haze.
These fall scenes are designed for users of Philips Hue white and color ambiance smart lights, like the new OmniGlow Strip light (curr. $139.99 at Amazon). You can download the latest version of the Philips Hue app from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
