The Philips Hue app version 5.52.0 has started to roll out. This release brings a new Matter-related feature for users of Apple Home. Plus, the change log also notes the addition of two new products and the Sonos integration.

A new update has arrived for the Philips Hue app. Software version 5.52.0 is now available for users with iOS, and will shortly also arrive for Android devices. It arrives only a week after the last release, which brought new fall-themed scenes.

The change log for the version 5.52.0 update states that users can now export their scenes to Apple Home over Matter. To do this, go to your chosen scene, tap the (…) icon and select “Add to Apple Home”. This means that Hue smart lighting scenes can now be triggered by devices in your Apple Home ecosystem. Also arriving with this update is support for the recently released Philips Hue Secure video doorbell and the Philips Hue Secure smart chime.

Philips Hue has also noted the new Sonos integration in its latest release. As announced a few weeks ago by Sonos, users can now remotely control their Philips Hue smart lights with Sonos Voice Control. Controls include switching lights on or off, adjusting the brightness level and activating scenes. This connection can be set up through the Philips Hue app’s Settings > Smart Home > (+) > Sonos Voice Control. It is worth noting that the Sonos voice assistant currently only supports English and French.

You can download the Philips Hue app version 5.52.0 update from the Apple App Store. When it becomes available, Android users will be able to install the update through the Google Play Store.
