Home Assistant 2025.10 arrives with new AI image generation tool

Home Assistant 2025.10 is now available. This latest version of the open-source smart home automation software is the tenth release so far this year. In the previous release, 2025.9, users received a new automations sidebar and additional tile features.

The change log for Home Assistant 2025.10 notes that there are further changes for the automations editor. The recently added sidebar can now be resized, and users can use CTRL+V as a paste shortcut. The overflow menu, triggered by the (...) button, has moved back to the main section of the editor, and users can undo or redo an edit, with optional CTRL+Z and CTRL+Y keyboard shortcuts.

Another change is for the ESPHome-based voice assistants, with users able to choose two wake words and two assistants for their setup. Dashboards are said to be smarter, providing users with suggested entities based on their habits and the current time. Plus, the AI Task feature can be used to generate images. For example, with a smart doorbell, you could set a cartoon version of the captured image to appear when you have a visitor (demo video below).

On top of this, there are new integrations for Libre Hardware Monitor, Droplet water usage monitor and Cync (formerly C by GE) products, such as the GE Cync A19 LED Smart Light Bulbs (2-pack curr. $22.97 at Amazon).
