The Philips Hue Flux Ultra-bright strip light has started to roll out. This indoor smart light was unveiled at IFA 2025 alongside other new products from the brand, like the Philips Hue Flux lightstrip (3 m curr. €69.95 at Amazon DE).
You can now buy the 5 m version of the Philips Hue Flux Ultra-bright strip light in European countries like the Netherlands, France and Germany. In this market, the product retails for €149.99. Two other lengths, 3 m and 10 m, will be released in the future for €99.99 and €249.99, respectively.
According to Philips Hue, the new Flux Ultra-bright strip light 5 m offers up to 4,800 lumens (960 lumens per meter) brightness. That makes it more than twice as bright as the standard Flux lightstrip, with the same length delivering 2,000 lumens (400 lumens per meter). For context, the older Philips Hue Ambiance Gradient Lightstrip 2 m, which is being discontinued, provides 1,800 lumens (900 lumens per meter) brightness.
The Flux Ultra-bright strip light uses the brand’s Chromasync technology, said to deliver “precise color mixing”. Through the Philips Hue app, users can choose from a range of colors and dynamic lighting effects. Plus, this white-backed strip light is 14.5 mm (0.6 inches) wide and suits many scenarios, as it is both cuttable and flexible. The light source has an expected lifetime of 25,000 hours, and the product comes with a two year guarantee.
Philips Hue’s Flux Ultra-bright strip lights are expected to be released in the US in March 2026. It is unclear when the other sizes will become available in Europe.
